About the Co-op Tourism

To Enhance work-integrated learning for Tourism Students

Mandatory Co-op Tourism Program

The Mandatory Co-Op Tourism Program allows students to learn real-life work experience before graduating. The program is set to provide students with success as they apply their knowledge from academic courses to professional projects.

With this new sponsorship program, a student can get sponsored by an employer for 8 months and learn about their organization via mentorship. Employers will have an opportunity to foster their values, culture, and mission to a student via this program.

Students can apply this experience to an academic course, create a presentation using any form of media, and present it to the employer within 8 months.

Upon presenting, the student and the employer can decide to move forward into a 4 months coop work term.

How to Apply for Jobs

Once you complete Co-op 1000 you will gain access to the Co-op job postings on Career Connections
It’s important to keep up to date with the latest job postings and what work terms they fall in. When you find a job posting that you’re interested in, follow the application steps attached to that job posting. If you are the selected applicant you will then begin the hiring process for that organization
It is important to stay in contact with your Co-op coordinator Jamie Noakes. Any updates or extended job offers you receive during the application process will need to be passed along.
